Gastronomy
Calvados, Pommeau, Cider and Poiré:
They are the stars of the region. They have been produced throughout Lower Normandy and around Neufchâtel since the 16th century (the first written record of them in a newspaper). They experienced their golden age at the end of the 19th century when French vineyards were devastated by phylloxera. Today, numerous cider houses and distilleries offer tours and tastings—in moderation, of course!
Cheeses (between 75km and 110km from Crépon):
Camembert, Livarot, Pont l'Evêque, and Neufchâtel are the four essential cheeses of Normandy. This guarantees that a product has been made according to a know-how passed down from generation to generation and documented in a precise set of specifications . Asnelles is also known for its pure butter shortbread, which has been made for over 100 years. The recipe hasn't changed: Isigny butter, flour, sugar, and eggs.
