All rooms are personalized by us. They all have old and authentic furniture hunted in neighborhood flea markets and sales rooms, stones and exposed beams, vintage chimneys as well as very high quality bedding. They are also all equipped with a flat -screen TV, a wifi connection, a welcome tray and a private bathroom with toiletries and hair dryer. Spacious and elegant, a room specially equipped for people with reduced mobility, is available on the ground floor of the hotel.

Standard, traditional, superior, junior suite, suite and family, the hotel rooms are subtitically harmonize the comfort of today and an atmosphere of yesteryear of crazy charm. You want to mark the occasion for a special occasion, opt for a junior suite or suite. The Mathan manor in Crépon was a private home for a long time before being completely renovated in 2008. It now has 21 rooms, some of which are on the ground floor with a view of the park and/or the lovely square courtyard. The hotel park extends to a country path and includes a small pond protected by a wooden barrier. In the park, a bread oven resembling a small stone house and an old press giving a bucolic charm to the places, previously served to daily life. Rest, landscape approvals and moments of relaxation punctuate the life of the Mathan manor.

A little story

On the Mathan Manor Domaine

Several times enlarged since its first construction, the triangular pediments that adorn the entrance doors brought back its first construction in the 17th century, 1605 to be precise. Solid wood beams, exposed stones and furniture found in flea markets around Bayeux, this manor cultivates the charm of its unique architectural frame, which is found in this part of Calvados and especially in the Bessin.

The fief of Mathan - in Calvados in Normandy - featured the king and the manor of Mathan became property of the Hue family of Mathan until the 19th century. From the end of the 17th century, the house was doubled in length, a new building was then added to make the link with barns, discounts and stables, then the roof was raised, to give today three buildings of character ordered around a square courtyard and a charming hotel in Normandy.

Arcisse de Caumont (1801-1873) was a French historian and archaeologist, considered as one of the pioneers of medieval archeology. He lived at Mathan's Manor, in Crépon, in Calvados, where he conducted in -depth research on the Norman heritage. Founder of the Société des Antiques de Normandie, he helped preserve the history and architecture of the region.

Perfectly renovated with noble materials, size stones or slates, the Mathan manor has a sober and elegant facade with slight relief pilasters and triangular pediments. Each part of the hotel opens with several stone stairs, allowing visitors to easily access the rooms and suites. The interior decoration of the hotel is neat, exposed beams, wrought iron ramps, shy -style furniture in flea markets with the sense of authenticity and detail which offers stays in Calvados and quality weekends.
