The Basilica of Saint Thérèse is located in Lisieux, Normandy. It was built in honor of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus shortly after her canonization. An imposing Neo-Byzantine style building inspired by the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, its construction, on a hill overlooking the city, began in 1929 and it was consecrated in 1954. Today, the basilica welcomes more than 600,000 visitors a year . Designated a "20th Century Heritage" site, it was listed as a historical monument on September 14, 2010, and then classified on September 7, 2011.
As the second pilgrimage city in France, you can enjoy a marked route starting from the Basilica of Saint Thérèse to Saint Peter's Cathedral and heading towards the Carmel and the Sanctuary.
