The Batteries of Longues-sur-Mer (14km from Crépon):
The Longues-sur-Mer Batteries, with their four cannons facing the sea and arranged in a semicircle, allow us to better imagine what the Atlantic Wall might have been like. A 13 km walking trail has been established from the Longues Batterie to Cap Manvieux, offering a magnificent panorama of the artificial harbor of Arromanches.
The American Cemetery (42km from Crépon):
The American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer is the American military cemetery located just above the very famous Omaha Beach nicknamed "Bloody Omaha" (located on the towns of Vierville, Saint-Laurent and Colleville) where you will also find the Omaha Beach Memorial Museum Signal Monument , the Overlord Museum , the "Les Braves" Monument , the US National Guard , the 1st Infantry Division Monument and many others .
Pointe du Hoc (48km from Crépon):
Pointe du Hoc, located between Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, was the site of one of the D-Day landing operations and had been fortified by the Germans. Heavy artillery pieces, spotted by Allied aerial reconnaissance, were believed to have been positioned there, their range threatening the two neighboring beaches. These artillery pieces had been moved 1.3 km inland by the Germans shortly before the landings. The Allies managed to capture them despite heavy losses.

Everyone remembers the image of the paratrooper who remained clinging to the church steeple during the drop of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions on the night of June 5-6, 1944.
